The Bruce Kaminski Scholarship Fund
The Bruce Kaminski Scholarship Fund
The Bruce Kaminski Scholarship Fund was established by the Mt. Tahoma Class of 1961 to honor Coach Kaminski, Mt. Tahoma’s first football coach and history teacher. Coach Kaminski went on to lead the Thunderbirds to state play offs year after year.
For decades, Mr. Kaminski was a mentor, guide, teacher, and friend to hundreds of students. When not teaching the finer facts of local history, Mr. Kaminski’s mind was on the next game. He helped players build consistency and discipline, understand the role they needed to play, and participate in a team that could do what no single player thought possible.
The fund was originally established to provide scholarship awards to Mt. Tahoma seniors attending accredited vocational schools and who have demonstrated financial need.
Today, original fund donors are honoring Coach Kaminski legacy to ensure that Mt. Tahoma graduates have equitable education access now and for generations to come.
