Sterling B. Manor Scholarship Fund
**SAMPLE DRAFT: THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL FUND**
The Sterling B. Manor Scholarship Fund was established GTCF in 1987 to honor the legacy, generosity, and community spirit of Sterling Manor, of Tacoma. Sterling was valedictorian of Stadium High School (class of 1940). After graduation, he pursued a business degree from Pacific Lutheran University leading him into a thriving business career spanning five decades. Mr. Manor invested nearly all his estate back into the community.
Sterling went on to raise his family in Tacoma alongside his wife, Barbara. Sterling is survived by 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The Sterling B. Manor Scholarship Fund was originally established for graduating seniors from Curtis High School, Stadium High School, and Fife High School who are attending Pacific Lutheran University, The Evergreen State College, University of Puget Sound, or University of Washington.
Today, the Manor Family is investing in GTCF’s Education Access Fund to ensure that Pierce County students for generations to come have the same opportunities afforded to Sterling in 1940.
