GTCF Welcomes Four New Board Members

TACOMA, WA – Greater Tacoma Community Foundation’s Board of Directors approved the addition of four new members during their annual meeting on December 19th. Aimee Khuu, Dr. Lance Goodpaster, Dr. Sheila Lange, and Rafael Saucedo will officially begin their terms in January 2025.

 

Aimee Khuu

Aimee Khuu, Executive Director-Tacoma Community House has over 15 years of national and international nonprofit leadership experience. In addition to her nonprofit experience, Aimee served as an English Language Acquisition (ELA) teacher in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and is fluent in Spanish, having studied, worked and/or volunteered in Mexico, Guatemala, and Argentina.

Aimee enjoys spending time with family and exploring new parks and beaches in the area.

 

 

 

 

Lance Goodpaster

Lance Goodpaster, Superintendent-Franklin Pierce Schools, is currently in his 32nd year as an educator in Pierce County. In addition to his work at Franklin Pierce Schools, he also teaches for PLU’s School Administrator/Principal preparation program and its Superintendent Certification and Doctoral program.  Lance is a Parkland-Spanaway Rotary Member and serves on several local boards and committees including Foundation for Tacoma Students, Pierce County Birth-25 Advisory Board, Junior Achievement: South Puget Sound, and Franklin Pierce Foundation.

Lance enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and e-bike riding.

 

 

 

Sheila Lange

Sheila Lange has served as Chancellor-University of Washington Tacoma, since 2021.  She brings a wide range of experience in higher education administration and has been a leading advocate for diversity and inclusion throughout her career.

Sheila also serves on the Tacoma Executive Council, AAA Washington Board of Directors, Foundation for Tacoma Students Board, and the Seattle Branch of San Francisco Federal Reserve Board

Outside of work and community service Sheila enjoys gardening, traveling to warm, beach locations, and spending time with friends and family.

 

 

 

Rafael Saucedo

Rafael Saucedo, Philanthropy Program Manager-BECU, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge centered on nonprofit engagement and credit union philanthropy. He currently helps lead BECU’s cooperative giving, managing partnerships with nonprofits in the financial wellness space

Rafael also serves on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Southside’s Success Foundation and Tacoma Community College Foundation. He previously served on the City of Tacoma’s Immigrant & Refugee Commission and as Interim Board President for the Tacoma Public Library Foundation.

Outside of work, Rafael enjoys traveling, spending time with family and trying new restaurants across Pierce County.
