Tree Walk: Where the Forest Meets the Sea
Event Navigation
The Tacoma Tree Foundation invites you to join them for “Where the Forest Meets the Sea”, a tree walk January 20th, 11-12, to precede NW Sinfonietta’s Sky & Sea Concert.
Is the rustling of leaves in the wind music to your ears? It is to NW Sinfonietta and the Tacoma Tree Foundation! This is why we are partnering to bring trees and music together!
Join us for a special wintery morning walk with Sarah Low where we will learn about how trees winter, and how they are connected to the sky and the sea.
Inspired by our beautiful Puget Sound region and the importance of caring for it, Northwest Sinfonietta’s Sky and Sea explores three expansive and imaginative works—Marjan Mozetich’s Postcards from the Sky, Debussy’s iconic La Mer, and Viet Cuong’s Re(new)al, celebrating renewable hydro, wind and solar energy. We will meet at Schneebeck Concert Hall, University of Puget Sound.
Tree Share and Pre-Concert Panel with Tacoma Tree Foundation, Communities for a Healthy Bay, and UPS Environmental Studies Program is at 6:15PM and the Sky & Sea Concert starts at 7:30PM at Schneebeck Concert Hall.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased here. To register for the walk and obtain a 50% discount ticket price for the concert, please visit event page! We hope you will join us!
