Tacoma Tree Foundation Giving Tuesday Fundraiser
November 29, 2021 - November 30, 2021
Event Navigation
Dear Friends,
One Saturday in October, Tacoma Tree Foundation held a special event in the South
End neighborhood for Green Tacoma Day. In collaboration with MetroParks Tacoma,
volunteers of all ages planted and mulched 16 giant sequoias in Alling Park.
Meanwhile, we were also giving away more than 50 trees and shrubs to neighbors.
Douglas firs, paper birches, lilacs, dogwoods, serviceberries, and many more—all
found homes with some very satisfied folks.
These trees are an investment in the future of our community: They’ll be giving off
benefits like beauty, shade, cooling, and wildlife habitat to the neighborhood for
generations. By cleaning the air, they will improve human health and quality of life in
a part of our city that could really use it.
Tacoma Tree Foundation has a vision to expand these efforts dramatically in the
months and years ahead, planting and distributing trees where they can do the most
good for the community and the environment. In our first few years as a nonprofit, we
have connected with so many people in the greater Tacoma area who share this
vision for a greener future, working together in an equitable and sustainable way.
That’s why I’m inviting you to donate to the Tacoma Tree Foundation this Giving
Tuesday—November 30, 2021. Your contribution will ensure that we are able to keep
growing community and connecting people with plants in the year ahead. For just
$100 (or an amount that works for you), you can help us plant the seeds of a healthier
community and a stronger urban forest. Now that’s an investment in the future!
Sincerely,
Jess Stone, Board President
