Join the Tacoma Concert Band on March 2, 2024, at the Pantages Theatre for “Symphonic Metamorphosis,” an evening showcasing dynamic transformative repertory. This concert features landmark works by band composers, both past and present, as well as TCB’s 2023-24 Student Soloist Competition winner Benjamin Early of Rogers High School, performing Alexander Arutiunian’s virtuosic Trumpet Concerto in A-flat. Also featured as part of the performance is Nicole Piunno’s Bright Shadow Fanfare, a new orchestration of William Grant Still’s Summerland featuring cornetist Morris Northcutt and Paul Hindemith’s classic March from Symphonic Metamorphosis. TCB’s collective program weaves a tapestry of melodies that lift the spirit and stir the soul while showcasing the ensemble’s versatility in performing diverse musical repertory.
