State of the City: Our Desiny in Motion

Mayor Victoria Woodards will host Tacoma’s 2019 State of the City Address on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. During this free community event, Mayor Woodards will speak on the theme “Our Destiny in Motion”. Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Board Chair-Elect Clemencia Castro-Woolery will serve as the master of ceremonies. The event will open with dancers from the Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center (TUPAC). Ceremonial drumming by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and a performance by the Tacoma Refugee Choir will also take place during the event.

The event is free and open to the public and will take place at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) at the University of Puget Sound’s Schneebeck Concert Hall. View the campus map and get directions at https://myatlascms.com/map/?id=1003&mrkIid=170688#!m/170688.

Ample free parking is available in the University of Puget Sound’s Thompson Hall parking lot, located on the east side of N. 14th Street and Union Avenue, or along the east side of Union Avenue. 

Community members who are interested in attending must register in advance via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2019-state-of-the-city-address-our-destiny-in-motion-registration-55547351624. Due to space limitations, seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in attending the State of the City Address are encouraged to register by Friday, February 22, 2019 at 3 PM.
