Pierce County Climate Advocacy Meeting
Are you concerned about climate change and want to do more to act on the issues you care about?
During the past year we’ve seen a great surge in climate action momentum, from the 100% clean electricity bill, to local cities pledging to use clean energy, to the widespread leadership of young people through movements like Sunrise and the Student Strikes for Climate. What do all these campaigns have in common? All of them involve getting decision makers to do something they otherwise would not have done on their own!
On September 18th join us for a brief session on learning these common advocacy skills that every one of these campaigns will require us to be fluent in if we are to keep up the momentum so Washington continues to lead on climate.
Whether you’re new to activism or a seasoned community organizer, this is the place to learn more about current climate policy and action in Washington State. Participants will receive training on key skills and tactics to build support for the next frontier of statewide climate action.
All are welcome – anyone who is interested in learning more about effective grassroots advocacy and campaign organizing should attend this workshop!
