Lakewold gardens 2017 “Learn in the Garden” lecture series

Lakewold gardens is please to present our 2017 “Learn in the Garden” lecture series.  As a key element in our mission, this program was designed to help educate, train and involve our local community members.  Each class includes an hour lecture given by an expert in their field followed by two hours of hands-on learning at our National Historic garden.  Field training is done in small groups to give you individual attention and ensure you get the most out of your experience.

 

March 16th, 2017: Alpine and Rock Gardening in the Northwest- Learn in the Garden

Truls Jensen, co-owner of Wild Ginger Farms- a specialty farm in Bevercreek, OR, will present examples of mountain plants from the Pacific Northwest.  He will talk about their growing requirements In our gardens and discuss how methods for growing these plants can improve our ability to grow other types of plants as well.
