Eastside Student Campus Visit & Presentation Preparation

October 21, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

We have an opportunity to observe young people who attend schools and The Boys and Girls Clubs on Tacoma’s Eastside as they visit the University of Puget Sound campus and collaborate with college students to prepare their presentations to the Metro Parks Board of Commissioners on Monday, October 24.

It is a truly wonderful thing to watch worlds open up for these youth as they are matched one-on-one with UPS students for a scavenger hunt (campus tour).  The students then work in pairs on their presentations. We have seen what a tremendous impact this experience has on both the young people and the college students.  Details to observe this opportunity are listed below:

Friday, October 21, 10 a.m. start
University of Puget Sound, 1500 North Warner St, Tacoma, 98416

Please RSVP by contacting Melissa Baty-McGovern at melissab@tacomaparks.com or 253-305-1066.

This event is a collaboration between Metro Parks Tacoma, the Greater Metro Parks Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, the YMCA and local public and private elementary, middle and high schools.
