When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?

Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF

I have the exciting task of serving on the Board of Directors and providing insights and lived experiences to the Foundation’s strategic direction and program development.

What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?

What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to support the overall Tacoma/Pierce County community and help bring new voices into decision making spaces and discussions.

What other jobs or positions have you held?

2025 will be my last year of serving on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Southside Success Foundation. In 2024, I began my term on the Board of Directors for the Tacoma Community College Foundation. I have previously served on the City of Tacoma's Commission on Immigrant and Refugee Affairs (CIRA) and as Interim Board President for the Tacoma Public Library Foundation. Before beginning my career in the credit union industry, I worked in the nonprofit sector and fundraised for healthcare and conservation organizations.

Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?

Traveling and spending time with family.

What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?

Exploring new restaurants across Pierce County.

What is the most inspiring book that you have read and why?

101 Essays to Change the Way You Think by Brianna Weist due to the constant challenge to expand your perspective and confront cognitive biases to deepen the understanding of oneself and how you treat others.
