What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?

Networking with other community leaders; Learning about the role GTCF plays in supporting Pierce County; Helping to support the great work GTCF does while keeping an eye on the future...

What other jobs or positions have you held?

I currently serve on the following boards/committees: Foundation for Tacoma Students; Pierce County Birth-25 Advisory Board; Junior Achievement: South Puget Sound Board; Franklin Pierce Foundation Board: Vice-President; Parkland-Spanaway Rotary Member: Past-President. This is my 32nd year as a public educator in Pierce County. I have worked in both the Franklin Pierce and University Place school districts. This is my 7th year as FPS Superintendent. I also teach for PLU's School Administrator/Principal preparation program and its Superintendent Certification and Doctoral program.

Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?

Family! I have been married to Tricia for 33 years and we have two adult children: Nick (married to Amanda Ellinghaus) and Natalie.

What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?

Golf. (E)bike-riding.
