WORKSHOP: Race, Power, and Social Impact Within Nonprofit Organizations

January 28, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

$299

Social impact organizations often unconsciously perpetuate institutional racism, which undercuts their purpose and impact and contributes to organizational dysfunction. This course addresses the drivers of institutional racism in nonprofit organizations, the blind spots that allow those drivers to persist, and provides tools to advance equity and societal impact in those organizations. This course focuses on root causes of societal problems and supports individuals to target their time, effort, and resources to undo those root causes.

This course is designed for individuals with professional interests in social impact, racial equity, and/or nonprofit leadership. It covers topics that are especially important for those about to enter the planning stages of founding a program, initiative, organization, or coalition.

Individuals wanting to take this course should have at least a cursory understanding of nonprofit organizations, structural and institutional racism, and white privilege.
