For civic-minded seniors, nonprofit board service can be a natural way to continue serving their communities in retirement. Often, however, they may find themselves feeling unprepared to benefit an organization because they lack the necessary knowledge and skills regarding the role of governance in leading organizations.
This class will introduce participants to board membership and governance best practices, ending with a panel discussion with local nonprofit leaders about how governance works within the context of their organization and how to best approach board service in this community.
Tuesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 12, 6:30 pm, M.J. Wicks Family Wellness Center
Tuesday, October 17, 6:30 pm, UW Tacoma, Tioga Library Building, Room 307B
