October 17 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Say Listen: A Night with the Black | Indigenous 100s Collective
Thursday, October 17, 2024
6:00 PM
University of Washington Tacoma at the Museum (formerly Scholarly Selections)
FREE
The Black | Indigenous 100s Collective is a group of artists, academics, activists, and creators who use collective writing as a means to grapple with the sometimes-frustrating limits of life in the academy and the urgency for conversation between Black and Indigenous thinkers. Join them at the museum in a session that celebrates their new book, Say Listen: Writing as Care.

They will explore their poetic conversational process, writing 100 words each, to each other, each week, sometimes with a question, always in response to each other. The result is writing that transits, together, between voices, languages, generations, and interior migrations. The Black | 100s Collective will share their words and process of writing as part of a larger striving toward fully human, caring relationships as/ between Black and Indigenous people.

Special thanks to our partners for this event, the University of Tacoma and the Black | 100s Collective.
