We invite you to come to the next Mayor’s Monday Mixer October 17 to network and talk about crafting the future of our city.
Whether you are an artist, a manufacturer, an inventor, a tinkerer, or a designer you are a maker and the Mixer is an informal way to meet other makers, content experts, government representatives and interested parties to share information and build community. |

“Tacoma is built on a rich history of innovation and manufacturing,” said Mayor Marilyn Strickland. “Now we are poised to advance our position as a Maker City again by strengthening opportunities for our local talent to thrive. Much like Brooklyn, where the Etsy Maker City Summit was held earlier this year, we have a thriving artisan community that takes great pride in their work.” |

You will have opportunities to meet Stephen Jones from Tacoma Manufacturing Company as well as Tim and April Norris from Tim+April who were the forces behind Tacoma’s invitation to participate in the Etsy Maker City Summit.
In addition, there will be representatives from mixer co-host Spaceworks Tacoma, Fablab, IDEA (the Industrial Design Engineering Art high school), co-working and maker spaces, the Office of Arts & Cultural Vitality plus hundreds of fellow makers.
