PIERCE COUNTY CONNECTED: COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund
The PIERCE COUNTY CONNECTED fund invested $7.9 million to support organizations providing services to address urgent needs and the disruption of basic human services to Pierce County’s most vulnerable populations due to COVID-19 and the necessary public health measures to address it.

Tacoma Whole Child Partnership
Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, Tacoma Public Schools, and numerous Expanded Learning providers have been engaged in the Wallace Foundation-funded Tacoma Whole Child Partnership. This community-wide effort aimed to ensure every child is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged in and out of school.

2020 Census
With census data guiding how more than $800 billion a year in federal funding is distributed, helping to create jobs, provide housing and build schools, roads and hospitals, GTCF aligned efforts with the Pierce County Auditor’s Office to support a complete count in Pierce County for the 2020 Census.

Youth Philanthropy Board
Greater Tacoma Community Foundation established a Youth Philanthropy Board in 2011 to connect a diverse cohort of young people, ages 15-24 , with a passion for community to the skills and tools necessary to cultivate positive change.

Women's Economic Opportunity
Following a year of research into the economic status of women in Pierce County, and a published Status Report, GTCF identified funding focus areas for the Fund for Women and Girl’s Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative through two workshops in 2017.
